Briana, Mark, Julie, Mary Kay and Sandy volunteered at Metropolitan Ministries in Tampa on Tuesday December 8th. Metropolitan Ministries serves homeless and needy families in the Tampa Bay area, by providing over 2,200 meals per day. They rely heavily on volunteers to keep the ministry in operation.
The Sunshine group helped with everyday chores, such as washing dishes; cutting, prepping and cooking food; mopping floors and cleaning cabinets; and stocking and organizing food in the pantry from community donations. They also worked with families to provide allotted supplies based on the family size and carried the food to the families’ cars.
It was a great day of team building and living out the Sunshine mission in the local community: to positively impact lives.
