On March 23, Zach Abel from Socially Funded raised $2,800 at the 23rd annual harbor cruise, Salute to Service! The event took place aboard the historic World War II S/S American Victory Ship, one of the only four entirely operational ships from WWII in the country. Photo’d is Zach very graciously presenting the check to Bill Kuzmick with the American Victory Ship Corporation, a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization. The event hosted 662 attendees and 25 WWII veterans. Not only is the ship fully functional, but also is a museum that provides guests with a variety of historical knowledge about the experiences and lives of those on the ship during WWII and access to all of the ships levels and features.
Socially Funded is a local organization that helps raise money for companies by providing their event with merchandise and offerings for silent auctions. At Salute to Service, Zach showcased a numerous amount of items for guests to check out and place bids on throughout the evening. Some of the items featured consisted of a Battle of Iwa Jima American Flag collage signed by Hershel Williams, an American Sniper collage, and a signed Jimmy Buffett collage.
“We were both blessed and honored by the attendance of 25 special heroes that fought for our country during WWII.” –Bill Kuzmick
“It’s a great opportunity to meet many of our heroes and bring nostalgic items onto the ship to raise money for the American Victory Ship Corporation.” –Zach Abel
